Director of Corporate Fundraising





Founded over 11 years ago and currently led by a small and dedicated team,  the Trust for the National Mall is a 501(c )(3) organization that stewards private support to design and deliver modern and resilient solutions that will transform the visitor experience and preserve the historic legacy on the National Mall.

As an official partner of the National Park Service, the Trust works to raise private funds, advocate for public funding from Congress and provide educational and engagement opportunities to support the restoration and improvement of the National Mall. With over $800 million in needed repairs and upgrades, the National Mall has the highest need of any National Park across the country.  Contrary to popular belief, only a small portion of these needs are funded by Congress.  The Trust works to augment this need with private resources and civic engagement. 


The Director of Corporate Fundraising will lead the development of revenue generating partnerships with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and/or Brand Marketing divisions of major corporations.  The Director will manage and grow a portfolio of current partners of the Trust and secure new partnerships to generate increased revenues for the organization and its mission. The Director will collaborate with the President & CEO, members of the executive team, as well as other members of development team to achieve the desired fundraising goals.


A.     Lead the implementation of the approved Corporate Development Strategy

  • Ensure goals and strategies are attained and annual and quarterly benchmarks are met, including financial targets.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure success of the strategy.

  • Refine the strategy annually as needed.


B.      Stewardship of CURRENT Portfolio of Corporate CSR/Marketing Partnerships

  • Manage the elements of the partnership agreement and the fulfillment of benefits.

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with representatives of the companies.

  • Ensure goals for the partnership are attained and the strategy is developed for the renewal process.

  • Utilize CRM software (Salesforce) to track and manage partner interactions and proposals.


C.      Secure NEW Corporate CSR/Marketing Partnerships

  • Prospect and cultivate corporate contacts to build sustainable partnerships with aligned and mutually beneficial objectives.

  • Lead the development of customized cause-marketing initiatives and other corporate engagement opportunities to pitch to the prospective corporate partner.


D.     Collaborate with team members to engage cross functions to ensure the corporate strategy compliments the other fundraising initiatives to maximize support to the organization



  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree.

  • At least five years of relevant experience working for a non-profit developing corporate partnerships or a for-profit in business development, corporate sales and/or CSR management (Corporate Social Responsibility).

  • Proven success in the management and implementation of fundraising /business development strategy and systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Database management software experience – Salesforce preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Excellent analytic and strategic planning abilities. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Exceptional attention to detail.

  • A team player with a positive can-do attitude and an understanding and appreciation of stewardship and cultivation.

  • Approaches ideas and /or challenges and solutions with creativity and innovation.

  • Results oriented

  • Available to travel as required for meetings with partners and prospects.
