Screen on the Green returns to the National Mall for 2012

The Washington Post

The outdoor film festival on the National Mall begins Monday, July 16, with “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and runs for four weeks, concluding Aug. 6. Due to the ongoing resurfacing of the Mall grounds, the by-now recognizable temporary projection screen will be mounted between Seventh and 12th streets.

Screenings start at dusk. Here’s the full schedule:

Monday, July 16: “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”

Wednesday, July 25: “It Happened One Night”
(The screening takes place on a Wednesday to make room for the AIDS Memorial Quilt, sections of which will be displayed on the Mall from July 21-25.)

Monday, July 30: “From Here to Eternity”

Monday, Aug. 6: “Psycho”
