Library group sponsors Sept. 24 trip to National Book Festival

The Friends of Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library group in Waynesboro is sponsoring a bus trip to the 11th annual National Book Festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Saturday, Sept. 24.

The festival is sponsored by the Library of Congress. It will feature more than 80 authors doing presentations, signing books and posing for photos.

There are pavilions for many types of literature, including children’s, teens’, fiction and mystery, history and biography, poetry, family living and contemporary life.

The pavilion of states and PBS characters are popular and there are many events for children.

The bus will leave Waynesboro at 7:30 a.m. and return by 7:30 p.m. The cost is $40.
