Each year, 30 million people – Americans and visitors from all over the world – walk the National Mall, pause to reflect on its profound symbols, and ultimately come to appreciate our nation’s rich history. There is no other place in the United States that celebrates democracy, freedom of speech, leadership and heroism like the National Mall. Its expansive lawns and poignant memorials have become our nation’s greatest civic stage, giving voice to protesters and presidents alike. The National Mall is our country’s truest reflection of what America is, what America has been, and what America can be.

WHY I INTERN
“My internship at the Trust was the best that I have ever had. I felt like I was needed and that the work I was doing really mattered. I loved seeing how the organization was run - TNM seems like the perfect small non-profit. I get to say that I knew the organization before it got huge and it meant a lot to me to see how a well-run non-profit succeeds."
—Glyn Vandenberg, Summer 2010, University of Memphis
